Sue is a lifelong collector, traveler, and designer with an instinct for finding beauty in unexpected places. After 26 years working in news, she found herself craving a creative outlet, something she could share with others that felt uplifting and offered a little escape from the heaviness of the world.

She first explored interior decorating, but over time found herself being drawn back to memories of her mother and grandmother, both of whom had a lasting influence on her sense of style. Those memories, combined with Sue's own years of travel, collecting, and studying art and architecture, helped shape the creative direction that would eventually become Once by Sue.

Today, Sue draws inspiration from vintage jewelry, found objects, and overlooked pieces with a past. An old brooch, strand of beads, or market find can become the starting point for something new. The name Once reflects that idea, giving forgotten elements new purpose through unexpected combinations and artisan design.
